Financial Accountant

Index is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our international recruitment group, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger Management: Manage and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Central Costs Allocation: Calculate and allocate central costs to each group company.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee and carry out accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Management Accounts: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, providing insights into our financial performance.
- Close Processes: Support month-end and year-end close processes, liaising with external accountants as required.
- Bank and Finance System Reconciliation: Reconcile items within the bank and finance system, allocating to the correct group company.
- Cashflow Forecasting and Budgeting: Prepare cashflow forecasting and budgeting as required, working closely with senior management.
- Payroll Inputs: Prepare payroll inputs for payroll providers and obtain senior management approval.
- Commission Calculations: Calculate and process commissions for recruitment consultants based on individual performance metrics and company policies.
- Commission Payments: Ensure accurate and timely payment of commissions and bonuses.
- Commission Records: Maintain detailed records of commission structures, calculations, advances, and pay-outs.
- Financial Analysis: Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Financial Insights: Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for decision-making.
- Management Reports: Assist in preparing management reports and presentations.
- Financial Processes: Put in place any financial processes required and ensure financial controls are in place and adhered to.
- Financial Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant finance and tax laws and regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes and systems.
- Accounting Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or other prestigious degree.
- Accounting Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience post-qualification in financial accounting, preferably within the recruitment or staffing industry.
- Accounting Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Accounting Software: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero QuickBooks, Sage or similar).
- Excel Skills: Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modelling.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
