Job Title: Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Summary:

Raytheon UK is seeking a highly skilled Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Advanced Products Business Area. As a key member of our Quality Assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software products and processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality management systems and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and objectives.
  • Write and review software quality plans and reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct internal software quality audits and accurately record and monitor non-conformances.
  • Manage software certification requirements and ensure adherence to standards in software development and production test environments.
  • Verify and validate software development lifecycle processes, including requirements, design, code, and test phases.
  • Review software design documents, requirements analysis, and software requirements specifications.
  • Control and monitor bought-in software and its implications.
  • Approve software tool evaluations and provide quality support to program reviews and management reviews.
  • Assist business leads with customer liaison on external customer software audits and meetings.
  • Manage concessions and stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Develop and maintain sound, productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience in problem-solving and resolution, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Relevant years of professional experience in quality assurance.
  • Effective communication with technical SMEs, internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels within the business.

Essential Knowledge/Experience:

  • Knowledge of quality assurance, internal auditing, and RCCA methodologies and practices.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent qualification or technical experience.
  • ISO auditor training for ISO 9001 and/or AS9100.
  • Knowledge and experience of software standards: RTCA DO-178C or ED-109A or Def Stan.
  • Knowledge of software coding and testing using C++, JIRA.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience working within a quality assurance team supporting one or more programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, flexible, and positive attitude, team player.

Desirable:

  • Software configuration management, FCA/PCA.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, Bit Bucket.
  • Knowledge of DAOS, DEF CON, RESA, AQAPs.
  • A love for automation.

The work will be based out of our Harlow site with possible national travel requirements.
