Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning and Highways Lawyer to join our team at Vox Network Consultants. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a crucial role in providing expert advice and guidance on planning and highways matters to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Negotiate and draft complex planning agreements and highways agreements, working on regeneration projects and attending planning committee meetings.
  2. Provide high-quality and timely legal advice to our clients on planning and highways matters, including drafting standard planning agreements, undertakings, and highways agreements.
  3. Undertake routine legal cases involving planning, highways, and licensing matters, including conducting proceedings, public inquiries, appeals, and judicial reviews.
  4. Assist the Senior Lawyers and the Chief Solicitor with the drafting and preparation of statements of case and other legal documentation for legal proceedings in the areas of planning, highways, or licensing.
  5. Gain experience in the area of licensing law and deputise for the Senior Lawyers where necessary.
Requirements
  1. Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX entitled to practice in England and Wales.
  2. Ability to organise and prioritise own workload and to work on own initiative as necessary.
  3. Broad knowledge of Local Government law or equivalent knowledge.
  4. Experience and knowledge of planning and highways legislation.
  5. Willingness to develop knowledge and experience of licensing law.
  6. Ability to effectively communicate legal issues to clients and to provide cogent legal advice accordingly.
  7. Ability to draft and communicate legal advice concisely and in plain English.
  8. Ability to work constructively with clients and be politically aware and sensitive.
Contract

Initial 6 to 12 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend. PAYE via Umbrella. Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Hybrid (1 day onsite).
