Cleaning Services Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Cleaning Services team as a Cleaning Services Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the delivery of high-quality cleaning services to our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure a Clean and Safe Environment: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in all areas of the hospital, including clinical and non-clinical spaces.
  2. Work in Partnership with the Ward Team: Collaborate with the Ward Team to ensure that cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, and that any issues or concerns are addressed promptly.
  3. Monitor and Maintain Cleaning Standards: Regularly inspect and monitor cleaning standards to ensure that they meet the Trust's expectations and policies.
  4. Operate Cleaning Equipment Safely: Use cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, and report any faults or issues to the Facilities Team Leader immediately.
  5. Provide Excellent Customer Service: Provide a high level of customer service to patients, staff, and visitors, and respond promptly to any requests or concerns.
  6. Participate in Training and Development: Participate in on-the-job training and training courses to develop skills and knowledge, and to stay up-to-date with the latest cleaning techniques and technologies.
  7. Contribute to Infection Control: Contribute to the prevention and control of infection by following the Trust's Infection Control Policy and Procedures.
  8. Work in a Team Environment: Work collaboratively with other members of the Cleaning Services team to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  9. Adhere to Trust Policies and Procedures: Adhere to the Trust's policies and procedures, including COSHH, Manual Handling, Health and Safety, and Infection Control.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a cleaning role is desirable, but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
