Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at EQUANS. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing and controlling all aspects of commercial and financial elements of designated projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Control all expenditure and ensure compliance with contract terms.
  • Reconcile cost/value reports and profit forecasts to ensure accurate financial management.
  • Assist the Contract Manager with pre-start planning and programming to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage and control sub-contract accounts and variation accounts to minimize financial risks.
  • Develop an understanding of designated contracts, specifications, and pricing to ensure compliance with conditions.
  • Assist the Contract Manager with subcontractor selection and ensure chosen subcontractors have the necessary skills and capability to deliver works.
  • Liaise with the Contract Manager over contractual issues and take action as required to protect company interests.
  • Measure progress, submit valuations, and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner in accordance with contracts.
  • Process subcontractor requests for payment and ensure timely cash flow management for clients and the group.
  • Assist in the development and training of trainee and assistant surveyors to ensure knowledge transfer and succession planning.
  • Maintain and develop professional relationships with clients to facilitate future business development.
Requirements:
  • Industry experience in the role of a Quantity Surveyor within a Social Housing environment.
  • Postgraduate experience within a surveying position reporting to either a Senior Surveyor or a Commercial Manager.
  • Experience of social housing, including responsive repairs, void refurbishments, compliancy services, and planned maintenance works.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, excellent level of numeracy, and excellent influencing skills.
  • IT skills in MS Office, Excel, Project, and Word.
  • Excellent time management, ability to work under pressure, and preparedness to work within various geographical areas.
