About the Role
NHS Education for Scotland is seeking a highly experienced pharmacist to join our team as a Principal Lead for the Pharmacy Foundation Training Year Programme. This is a part-time opportunity with a flexible working arrangement, and we are supportive of postholders maintaining clinical practice in the remaining working week.
The successful candidate will have significant experience as a pharmacist practicing in any sector, with a proven range of leadership experience. They will be responsible for delivering the leadership of the Foundation Training Year (FTY) Programme, supporting Trainee Pharmacists as part of the initial education and training of Pharmacists.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the leadership of the FTY Programme, ensuring high-quality education and training for Trainee Pharmacists.
- Work closely with the Associate Postgraduate Pharmacy Deans and other parts of the Pharmacy team, NES Directorates, and key internal stakeholders.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance career and role development for the Pharmacy workforce.
- Collaborate with a range of stakeholders across Scotland to play a significant lead role in delivering national training initiatives.
Requirements
- Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) with a proven range of leadership experience.
- Significant experience as a pharmacist practicing in any sector, with experience of supervising Trainees/Learners and/or wider leadership experience in relation to initial education and training of Pharmacists.
- Experience of working and delivering in an educationally focused environment.
- Experience of quality assurance.
- Knowledge and experience of leading and supporting workstreams that enhance career and role development for the Pharmacy workforce.
