Job Description

OBM People is seeking an experienced Assistant Operations Manager to join our team at Teesworks, Middlesborough.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of operational service requirements and operational service improvements to achieve performance and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting performance with communication, planning, and reviews
  • Providing direct operations leadership to support night operations
  • Supporting the Operations Manager to lead and manage individual and team performance and development
  • Ensuring the continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance and compliance to all laws, regulations, and industry standards/codes
  • Using Power BI to report KPIs and build monthly reports
  • Identifying opportunities for growth and reporting significant breaches of policy and/or regulation
  • Financial planning and budgetary control, inventory control, and disposal cost effectiveness
  • Business case cost planning preparation and assisting in the development and execution of business plans with a primary focus on profit growth
  • Ad-hoc responsibilities as requested by the Operations Manager for the successful operation of the facility

Requirements:

  • UK Driving Licence
  • Accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, flexible, and able to adapt to changing workloads and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and in writing
  • Ability to work stand-alone, demonstrating initiative and ownership, while a positive contributor to the wider team
  • Computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite and a practical understanding of data entry and reporting applications
