Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at a leading food processing and manufacturing business. As a key member of our close-knit team, you will be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all machinery and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all machinery and systems
  • Carry out Predictive Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and project work
  • Work on conveyors, industrial processing equipment, silos, elevators, augers, SCADA systems, HMIs, production machinery, site services, facilities, PLCs, blowers
  • Monitor machine efficiencies and implement continuous improvement projects
  • Deal with sensors, motors, valves, pumps, bearings, shafts, drives, inverters, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, contactors, relays
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and sometimes outdoors

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualified in engineering
  • Completed a time-served apprenticeship
  • Ideal candidate will be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer, but we are open to considering either electrical or mechanical candidates
  • Must have worked in an industrial manufacturing environment previously
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and sometimes outdoors
  • Will be required to work in sometimes dusty environments (full PPE and breathing apparatus provided)
  • Must not suffer from asthma or have respiratory problems
  • Be adaptable and flexible to work additional, longer hours and shifts in busier periods
  • At least 10 years of experience in maintenance engineering
  • PLC - electrical fault finding
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ideal candidate will have 18th edition electrical
  • Must have a strong mechanical background - bearings, shafts, drives, pumps, valves
