Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Play a key role in the advanced assessment, treatment, and clinical management of patients with stroke, determining clinical diagnosis, functional deficits, and occupational therapy treatment programs.
  • Develop and implement efficient and effective OT working processes to support a multi-professional team approach.
  • Work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead Therapist to develop the service and respond to changing health and social care agendas.
  • Supervise and appraise staff, and contribute to the development of the team.

Person Specification
  • Post-registration experience working in an acute hospital setting.
  • Experience as a senior OT, with clinical experience in the NHS or similar health service across a range of acute/rehab settings.
  • Post-registration experience in relevant clinical settings, including neurology, stroke, community rehabilitation, and supported discharge.
  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supervising and appraising staff, and contributing to audit/research.
  • Documented evidence of CPD, in accordance with HPC recommendations.
