Maintenance Engineer Apprentice

As a key member of our team at ESS Ltd., you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to perform electro-mechanical repairs to our PLC-controlled plant, handling and conveying equipment, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to achieve targets and improve overall efficiency.
  • Work with equipment suppliers to implement new installations and modifications.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance routines to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnose issues to identify root causes.
  • Implement corrective actions to resolve issues and prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance cross-skilling and job-related competencies.
  • Contribute to the inputting of our maintenance management system (CMMS), recording all changes, stores transactions, and work carried out.
Person Specification:
  • Hold a trades qualification in Electrical with a strong understanding of Mechanical principles.
  • Demonstrate a multi-skilled and cross-skilled ethos, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Exhibit aptitude for process awareness, diagnostic, and trouble-shooting experience gained in a high-volume environment.
  • Display excellent team player skills, with the ability to use initiative and work independently.
  • Possess computer skills, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.

Note: Must be available for early/late shifts and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
