About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Manager to join our team at Automation Experts Ltd. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design of projects, ensuring timely delivery, and providing guidance to the Mechanical department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the mechanical design of projects, delegating and checking completed work
  • Ensure mechanical designs are delivered on-time, within scope, and budget
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the Mechanical department, including Fitters and Technicians
  • Assist in defining project scope and objectives
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure sufficient resources and materials for critical delivery dates
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks or Inventor
  • Background in mechanical design for complex special-purpose automated machinery is essential
  • Experience with servo motor and motion control applications is advantageous
  • Ability to interpret various mechanical drawings and documents
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with stakeholders
  • Knowledge of engineering lifecycle and business processes
  • Proven ability to take responsibility for Engineers, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to scope
