Job Title: Head Chef

A prestigious care home in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join their team. As a key member of the care home's management team, you will be responsible for leading the culinary operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in a similar setting, with a strong background in menu planning, kitchen management, and staff supervision. You will be responsible for managing a team of kitchen staff, overseeing food preparation, and maintaining compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments within the care home. A culinary degree or relevant certification is highly desirable, as is knowledge of nutrition, dietary needs, and food safety regulations.

The Head Chef will receive a competitive salary of £16.00 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package including a pension scheme, comprehensive induction and paid training programme, and enhanced rates for bank holidays. The role is a permanent full-time position, working through day shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the culinary operations and ensure the highest standards of food quality and safety
  • Manage a team of kitchen staff, overseeing food preparation and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of residents
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a similar setting
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification
  • Knowledge of nutrition, dietary needs, and food safety regulations
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
