We are currently seeking a Production Operative to become a vital part of our dedicated team at our Mortar Plant in Colchester.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will undertake various responsibilities, including:

  • Adhering to the Safety Management System to ensure all site operations comply with Tarmac's standards, policies, and applicable legislation
  • Promoting a culture of health and safety excellence by leading by example
  • Completing and accurately documenting site inspections
  • Understanding and following method statements and risk assessments for all tasks
  • Participating actively in daily and weekly safety meetings
  • Identifying opportunities for safety, health, and environmental (SHE) improvements and supporting SHE Committee representatives
  • Complying with operational restrictions, including site boundaries, noise, dust, and working hours
  • Striving to meet, record, and report key performance indicators accurately
  • Recognizing and communicating opportunities for ongoing improvement

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of flexibility in their work schedule, including varying start and finish times. While prior experience in a similar role is not mandatory, a comprehensive training program will be provided.

As the ideal candidate, you should be able to showcase experience and knowledge of safe working practices, alongside strong communication skills that ensure a customer-focused approach and effective collaboration with the project team and other stakeholders.
