Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structures Manager to lead our team of engineers, inspectors, and project managers in the delivery of a local government contract. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in inspection, maintenance, strengthening, and reconstruction of structural assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers, inspectors, and project managers in the delivery of a local government contract.
  • Develop and implement strategies for inspections, monitoring, and assessment of structural assets.
  • Provide advice and guidance on feasibility studies, bridge inspections, and retaining wall assessments.
  • Manage the forward works programme, prepare and monitor OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • Review tender submissions, monitor supply chain partner and sub-contractor compliance to legislation and standards.
  • Review Health and Safety plans and risk assessments, carry out the duties of Designer where required by CDM regulations.
Requirements
  • Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng MICE/MIStructE or equivalent).
  • Experience of BCI inspections and working knowledge of Highway Structures design, maintenance, and management, including codes of practice and British standards.
  • Previous budgetary control, risk assessment, and management experience.
  • Excellent communication, initiative, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
