Senior Game Optimisation Engineer

Job Summary

Harnham is excited to bring you an opportunity to partner with a globally leading technology company specialising in R&D. You will be joining a department specialising in their gaming ecosystem and supporting the tech company and video game partners to optimise their products on their platforms.

The Role and Responsibilities

  • Developing plugins, Android APIs and demos to support and improve the performance of video games on their platforms.
  • Work closely with game companies and provide them with actionable insights on how to better optimise their games for the client's devices.
  • Study how to improve the performance of apps on their platforms, particularly focusing on CPUs.

Key Skills and Experience

  • A degree in a related field such as a STEM subject.
  • Experience in game engine optimisation, particularly Unity, Unreal Engine or similar.
  • A background in supporting game or tech companies with video game optimisation.
  • Strong modern C++ skills.
  • Experience working with Android development (Perfetto, ADB, Gradle).
  • Java and/or C# would be a bonus.

The Benefits

  • £400-£550 per day.

  • 6 month initial contract with extensions very likely.
  • 3 days per week in their Surrey office.
