Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, modify, and maintain marine mechanical equipment and systems
  • Test and commission marine mechanical equipment and systems
  • Ensure the safe movement of marine vessels and components using the correct lifting equipment and techniques
  • Fabricate marine components through pattern development, cutting, and assembly
  • Identify and select the correct tools, materials, and equipment for each task
  • Deliver tasks and jobs to the required standards
  • Use Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) information, engineering data, and documentation correctly
  • Participate in good occupational health, safety, and environmental practices
  • Work towards achieving safety, quality, production, cost, and people business targets
  • Apply continuous improvement (Lean) tools and techniques to the shop floor and support functions
  • Be available for emergency stand-by duties, including weekends and bank holidays
  • Participate in sea trials and deliver boats to and from the coast
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant City and Guilds or NVQ level 3/BTEC or time served apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in the assembly, installation, modification, repair, maintenance, and diagnosis of electrical equipment/systems within the marine environment
  • Working from engineering drawings and following standardized work
Contract Details
  • Rate dependent on experience: £15.70/h - £17.50/h PAYE plus holiday pay, or £20.64/h - £23/h umbrella company
  • Possible temporary to permanent contract for the right candidate
