Collaborating with an Optical Manager (a qualified Dispensing Optician), you will play a vital role in fostering an environment that merges clinical and operational excellence. By partnering with the wider departmental team, you will assist in coaching, training, and developing new patient services to ensure we provide our clients with the most current and accessible offerings to meet their needs.

Your Qualifications:

  • A fully qualified optometrist registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
  • A registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
  • MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to obtain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda – supported and funded by us)
  • On track to fulfill the statutory points requirement for CPD
  • Able to leverage your skills and passion for the role to deliver an exceptional customer experience
  • Enthusiastic about developing new patient services and influencing the culture of the department

When applying for any of our Optical roles, you must be registered with the General Optical Council (GOC) for the relevant professional role type you have applied for. Additionally, you will need to provide evidence of your Right To Work in the UK.

As part of the compliance process, we will request proof of being on the NHS performer list for the nation or, in Scotland, the Health Board you wish to work in, along with two clinical references. If applying in Wales, we will require evidence of your WECS accreditation & WGOS module accreditation.
