Role Overview:

This position offers a diverse range of responsibilities across various products and tasks within our testing laboratories. Successful candidates will need to establish strong relationships with clients, comprehend their needs, and execute tasks independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients and provide updates on project statuses to ensure exceptional customer service and timely project delivery.
  • Address customer inquiries and offer technical assistance.
  • Enhance technical competencies to perform testing across multiple laboratories, equipment, and client-specific requirements.
  • Adhere to quality and safety protocols to meet organizational and legislative standards, including ISO 17025.
  • Conduct testing in accordance with established standards and client specifications, maintaining accurate records and producing quality reports promptly.
  • Collaborate with calibration teams to ensure the proper maintenance and use of testing equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment and report any issues affecting testing performance or quality.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless service delivery throughout the BSI supply chain.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of a BTEC/HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience in a testing environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
  • A customer-focused mindset and effective communication with team members.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office or similar software.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a positive attitude towards change.
  • Excellent time management abilities and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Lean methodologies and tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025 standards is advantageous.
  • Experience in the installation of fire detection systems is beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience with fire suppression equipment testing is a plus.
