Join Our Team as a Grounds Maintenance Operative
GCS Services is seeking a dedicated full-time Grounds Maintenance Operative to enhance our grounds maintenance team. We value individuals who are eager to develop their skills within our organization, possess strong communication abilities, and can engage effectively with clients.
This position focuses on the upkeep of communal areas associated with residential blocks, estates, parking facilities, and select private gardens.
The role will involve travel across various locations in Surrey and nearby regions.
As part of your employment, you will receive a tipper truck and a complete uniform. A DBS check will be required for this position.
You will initially work under supervision for a period of 3-6 weeks, after which you will be expected to operate independently until further team expansion is necessary.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 25 years old
- Hold a clean, full UK driving license for a minimum of 3 years
- Possess experience in driving vans
- Have substantial knowledge of gardening and grounds maintenance in both commercial and residential settings
- Be skilled in operating lawnmowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other gardening tools
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:
- Grass cutting
- Hedge trimming
- Maintaining shrub and flower beds
- Deadheading and pruning
- Strimming
- Litter picking
- Pruning
- Spraying (a spray certificate is preferred but not mandatory)
- Sweeping
- Seasonal tasks such as snow clearance and salt spreading
