About Our Client

Our client is a prestigious and well-established law firm with a global presence, renowned for their top-tier services and commitment to customer satisfaction. Their established finance team is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team.

Job Description
  • Process and approve invoices, ensuring accurate coding and compliance.
  • Monitor disbursements, post to specific matters on the portal, and process payments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Process and pay referral fees, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Approve office payment requests (disbursements) and ensure seamless financial operations.
  • Reconcile Counsel Fees as per the ledger, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Perform payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Reconcile staff expenses, identifying areas for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciling accounts payable transactions and preparing accruals.
  • Support and train junior staff, overseeing and correcting work as needed, and providing guidance on financial procedures.
  • Generate ad hoc reports on accounts payable, providing valuable insights for the finance team.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support as required.
The Successful Applicant
  • Strong accounts payable experience, with a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience overseeing or supporting junior team members, with a focus on developing their skills and knowledge.
  • Experience using accounting systems, with a preference for Chrome River.
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Experience working in a law firm is highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Ability to hit the ground running, learning new processes quickly and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for process and system improvements, driving efficiency and productivity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
