About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Officer to join our team at Coventry City Council. As an HR Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the organization's HR functions, including employee relations, organizational development, and talent management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on employment law, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention.
  • Conduct investigations and provide recommendations on employee relations matters, including grievances and disciplinary procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement organizational development initiatives, including training and development programs.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and data.
Requirements
  • Relevant HR experience, preferably in a local government or public sector organization.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
