About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Esteem North Academy, Barrow Hill site. As a Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with challenging and complex needs, who are at risk of or have been permanently excluded from mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils in lessons to engage in their learning and promote positive behavior
  • Work with small groups or on a one-to-one basis to meet the needs of individual pupils, as directed by the class teacher and site leads
  • Contribute to a small staffing team to ensure the smooth running of the site, including delivering lessons in staff absence
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, think outside the box, and demonstrate a growth mindset and positive ethos
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good knowledge and experience of working with disaffected pupils in a school or alternative setting
  • An affinity for pupils with behavior, emotional, and social difficulties
  • Resilience, high expectations, and a sense of humor
  • Daily access to transport with business use included on your car insurance
