Paediatric Mental Health Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Mental Health Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. As a key member of our paediatric service, you will play a crucial role in supporting the care and management of children with mental health needs.
As a Paediatric Mental Health Nurse, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to children and young people with complex mental health needs. You will be responsible for coordinating the management of these children, providing advice and support to paediatric nurses and other healthcare professionals, and identifying children with combined paediatric and psychiatric illnesses.

Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate the management of children and young people with mental health needs
- Liaise with the ward team to support training and education
- Provide advice and support to paediatric nurses and other healthcare professionals
- Identify children with combined paediatric and psychiatric illnesses and ensure they receive appropriate treatment
- Ensure the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery

Person Specification- Registered Children's Nurse/MH nurse
- Post-basic qualification relevant to children's/MH nursing
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- 1st degree or willingness to undertake same
- Recent experience at senior staff nurse level within children's nursing/MH nursing
- Evidence of clinical competence in a wide range of paediatric/MH nursing skills
- Understanding of the setting and monitoring of standards
- Evidence of teaching and developing staff
- Recent leadership development or willingness to undertake course
- IT skills including word processing, email and internet
