About the Role
Climate17 is collaborating with a prominent and rapidly growing renewable energy firm that specializes in the development, design, construction, and maintenance of sustainable energy solutions for both commercial and private clients.
We are looking for a skilled and meticulous Solar Project Manager to take charge of the planning, coordination, and execution of solar energy projects, including rooftop and ground-mounted installations throughout the UK. This role involves managing the complete construction process, from initial planning to final project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource distribution, and budget forecasts.
- Work closely with design teams to ensure project specifications and requirements are met accurately.
- Choose and oversee subcontractors and clients.
- Manage the bidding process and negotiate contracts with construction partners.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards during construction activities.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess construction progress and quality.
- Implement and uphold quality assurance processes to guarantee top-notch workmanship.
- Track project budgets and expenditures, making adjustments as necessary.
- Identify and execute cost-saving strategies without compromising project integrity.
- Recognize potential risks and devise mitigation strategies.
- Address issues proactively during construction to minimize delays.
- Encourage effective communication among team members and stakeholders while demonstrating leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including installation, procurement, and finance.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Adjust project timelines and schedules as needed to accommodate changes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in the construction sector.
- Demonstrated experience in a project management role.
- Essential experience in solar energy projects.
- Background in electrical, civil, or roofing sectors is advantageous.
- SMSTS qualification is preferred.
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
- Proficient problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage risks effectively.
- Possession of a full clean driver's license.
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home during active projects is essential.
