Job Summary:
Panton McLeod is seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Manager to lead our finance team and drive operational effectiveness. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for all financial operations, providing strategic guidance to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the finance team, ensuring tasks are executed accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct month-end activities, including preparing schedules, journals, and reconciliations, to ensure financial stability and accuracy.
- Perform financial reporting and analysis, offering detailed explanations and conducting variance analysis to inform business decisions.
- Manage cash flow and creditor payments to ensure financial stability and minimize risk.
- Oversee fixed assets and stock control processes to safeguard company resources and assets.
- Process salaries and oversee weekly payroll activities, providing oversight on credit control and ensuring timely payments.
- Manage financial processing tasks, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, and expense management, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Support budget tracking across the business, collaborating with departments to manage budgets effectively and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Provide operational support by conducting costing and margin analysis to inform business decisions and drive profitability.
- Strengthen commercial and financial competence across the business, enhancing decision-making and profitability through data-driven insights.
Requirements:
- ACCA/CIMA/ICAS qualified or ability and willingness to obtain this.
- Demonstrable strong knowledge of the Microsoft Suit, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and intellectual curiosity to develop a deep understanding of business issues.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and an eagerness to collaborate with colleagues across the business.
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with senior leaders, peers, and team members at all levels.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience of working independently and autonomously while leading an engaged finance team.
Desirable:
- Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS) preferred - Part-qualified will be considered.
- Management or supervisory experience.
- Sage 50 (or similar) experience.
- Advanced user of MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
