Sous Chef Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our clients team in Kettering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the food operation, working closely with the Head Chef and key stakeholders to deliver a consistent, compliant, and profitable department.
  • Ensure all statutory requirements are met, and the department operates efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement menus, recipes, and food preparation methods.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Monitor inventory, manage stock levels, and optimize food costs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of ingredients.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a similar environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to train and develop kitchen staff.

Working Hours: 07:00 - 15:00

Pay Rate: £18 - £20.17 per hour
