Role Overview:

We are in search of a Lead Systems Engineer to join our team, focusing on both military and civilian actuation projects.

This role is pivotal within an integrated product team, where the individual will utilize their expertise to independently plan and execute Systems Engineering tasks. Collaboration with senior engineering staff will be essential for successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities include crafting technical specifications and solutions for complex actuation systems, which encompasses requirements gathering, architecture design, trade studies, validation, verification, and integration processes.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing and clarifying customer and stakeholder requirements.
  • Designing system architecture and defining interfaces.
  • Managing requirements and developing specifications for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conducting trade-off analyses to identify optimal solutions.
  • Delivering project documentation, including Requirements Management Plans, System Description Documents, Verification Summaries, and Compliance Reports.
  • Tracking and reporting on requirements validation, traceability, and verification metrics.
  • Assessing customer requirements for compliance.
  • Identifying technical risks and implementing mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contributing to the establishment of standard practices and best practices within the engineering function.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and/or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience in requirements management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in conducting trade studies and optimizing engineering solutions.
  • Experience in system development through various analyses including sizing, sensitivity, and robustness.
  • Proven ability to produce project deliverables.
  • Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience in Aerospace/Defense sectors.
  • Familiarity with analytical methods and performance modeling.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, systems thinking, and knowledge of system lifecycles.
