We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PV Engineer to join our team at ib vogt GmbH. As a Senior PV Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of large-scale solar power plants, including the assessment of site topography, potential constraints, and the selection of suitable technology for green field development.

  • Design and develop large-scale solar power plants, including the assessment of site topography, potential constraints, and the selection of suitable technology for green field development.
  • Prepare and review design specifications, and engineering design packages (mechanical, civil, and electrical) for large-scale PV projects during all project phases.
  • Review and evaluate tender documents and technical requirements.
  • Prepare and review single line diagrams up to MV and coordinate with the grid team to match HV specifications with HV single line diagrams.
  • Evaluate climate data sources and prepare energy yield simulations (PVsyst) to provide key project performance indicators for commercial project optimization.
  • Lead/participate in site visits in projects' early stages to identify buildable areas, optimize layout design, identify infrastructure crossings, and prepare site assessment reports.
  • Lead/participate in technical discussions and negotiations with third-party technical advisors and consultants for Technical Due Diligence of PV projects.
Your Profile

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior PV Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering, renewable energy, and solar power plant design. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of PV system design, IEC codes, and specifications according to project/country-specific requirements.

  • Academic degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energies, or similar.
  • Deep knowledge of PV system design (engineering planning), IEC codes, and specifications according to project/country-specific requirements.
  • Good understanding of techno-economic aspects of solar projects and latest market developments.
  • Hands-on experience in solar power plant design, preferably in the field of utility-scale projects, with at least 5 years of experience in renewable energy projects in the UK and ideally a minimum of 5 years in solar PV projects.
  • Sound design knowledge in areas of solar plant layouts, civil design, SLD, MV, and HV equipment's, power transmission, system loss calculation, and general electrical requirements of large-scale solar power plants.
  • Deep knowledge in modules, inverters, cables, transformers, MV switchgears relays, and industry best practices.
  • Software skills: AutoCAD, PVSyst, PVCase or Helios 3D, and MS Office.
  • Language: Business Fluent/Native English, other language a plus.
  • Pro-active team player with high degree of self-management and problem-solving ability.
