Transport Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Manager to join our team at Robert Dyas. As a key member of our Distribution Centre, you will be responsible for the performance of our drivers and driver's mates, ensuring the effective day-to-day running of the Transport Department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a high-performing team of drivers and mates, providing coaching, development, and support to ensure the right processes and procedures are followed.
- Develop and maintain a positive and engaging work environment, promoting our company values and culture.
- Manage and evaluate individual performance, addressing skills gaps and providing constructive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, standards, and legal requirements, including health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for fuel usage, driver behavior, and cost reduction.
- Manage delivery schedules, communicate effectively with stores and drivers, and liaise with the warehouse operations team.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, working collaboratively across all brands.
Requirements:
- Good IT skills, particularly in using spreadsheets (Google Sheets and Excel).
- Excellent planning skills and ability to offer creative solutions.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Good knowledge of Telematics and associated reporting.
- A valid UK driving licence with no serious endorsements.
- Good knowledge of the UK road network.
- Good attention to detail.
- A team player with a positive attitude towards work and colleagues.
- Previous transport experience essential.
- CPC in Transport Management is a requirement of the role.
