Position: Entry Level - Rail Engineer

Location: Lincolnshire

Compensation: £40,000 base salary plus Overtime and Benefits

Work Schedule: Rotating shifts including Days, Nights, and Weekends (35-hour work week)

The Resolute Group is collaborating with a prominent client in the Rail sector, recently awarded a long-term contract to oversee assets in the Lincolnshire area. This role offers comprehensive training, making it suitable for candidates without prior railway experience, provided they possess an Engineering qualification such as City and Guilds or NVQ level 3 in:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Avionics

Successful applicants will utilize their engineering background while receiving specialized training and support to further their careers in the rail industry. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring the reliability of essential rail infrastructure, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of systems including UPS, Signalling, Lighting, and Trackside infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repairs: Execute routine and preventive maintenance on trackside systems such as Signalling, Telecoms, and Switches.
  • Inspections: Conduct regular evaluations of critical installations to detect faults, wear, and potential safety risks.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical issues swiftly to minimize service interruptions.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to all relevant legislative standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Documentation: Keep precise records of maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs for compliance and reporting.
  • Collaboration: Partner with fellow technicians, engineers, and contractors to ensure the smooth integration of electrical systems with other railway components.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Background: Engineering-focused apprenticeship – NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds or equivalent.
  • Driving License: Full Car or Motorbike license required due to potential on-call responsibilities.
  • Drug & Alcohol Screening: Candidates must successfully pass a drug and alcohol screening.

Work Environment:

  • Locations: Various locations within Lincolnshire.
  • Hours: Rotating shifts covering days, nights, and weekends within a 35-hour work week.
  • Safety: Compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and strict safety protocols is mandatory.
