About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chemical Waste Specialist to join our team at Veolia. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient collection and disposal of hazardous waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and classify various types of waste, ensuring accurate labelling and segregation for transportation and compliance with regulations.
  • Collect hazardous waste from customer sites, adhering to relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Verify environmental legislation and internal documentation are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Optimize collection routes to maximize customer service and minimize costs.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet legal requirements, including operator licensing.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, meeting company, legislative, and contractual standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to Veolia's and customer site rules, even when working alone.
  • Comply with transportation legislation and customer processes when collecting waste.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry.
  • Valid UK driving license, class B (manual) minimum.
  • Knowledge of the waste industry and dangerous goods.
  • Understanding of environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer-facing interactions.
Desirable Qualifications
  • ADR License.
  • Class C1 or higher driving license.
  • Drivers CPC.
  • First Aid Qualification.
