About the Role
Vistry Group PLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the Commercial department. As a key member of our Cost Control team, you will be responsible for delivering a range of cost control and financial reporting duties across all aspects of construction work undertaken by the Company.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver cost control and financial reporting duties, including analysis of quotations, tender preparation, and contract administration.
- Collaborate with the Construction Director to assess site staffing levels and build programmes, and prepare preliminary costs.
- Arrange and adjudicate budget settlement meetings, and prepare stage payment schedules to assist in the financing of the works.
- Place subcontractor orders, negotiate contract sums, and issue variation orders and development changes.
- Check and arrange subcontractor payments, and agree final accounts with subcontractors.
- Take responsibility for the preparation of documents for external valuation with the client's agent.
- Liaise with the Customer Service department on post-completion defects, and provide cost advice where necessary.
Requirements
- Experience in quantity surveying and knowledge of construction techniques and mixed-tenure schemes.
- High level of mathematical ability and problem-solving skills, with a methodical and logical approach to work.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn new computer systems, including Xpedeon and Viewpoint/4Projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a wider team.
- Ability to effectively manage workload to meet set deadlines.
- Ability to influence others within the business to ensure best practices are shared.
