About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Learning Disability Professional to join our Positive Behaviour Support Team as a Positive Behaviour Support Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete functional behaviour and other profession-specific assessments to develop positive behaviour support plans
  • Support the implementation and understanding of these plans through role modelling and developing bespoke workshops and training
  • Manage a complex caseload, including supporting individuals on the Care Programme Approach framework and care-coordination
  • Work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team, liaising with relevant professionals, carers, agencies, and providers
  • Support students on placement within the team and have opportunities to clinically supervise others and develop management skills and experience
Requirements
  • Experience of implementing a positive behavioural support approach
  • Ability to complete specialist functional behavioural assessments and undertake functional analysis of data
  • Experience of working with individuals who may display behaviour that may challenge
  • Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act/Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Knowledge of safeguarding adults procedures
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience of care-coordination
  • Experience of working within care programme approach (CPA)
  • Experience of working within a community learning disability service
