Corporate Tax Lead (Direct Tax)
NEXT is seeking to appoint a Corporate Tax Lead within the Group Tax division, which operates under the broader Group Finance sector. This position will oversee the organization's domestic and international corporate tax responsibilities, reporting directly to the Head of Tax.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervision of domestic and global corporate income tax submissions and obligations.
- Management of the Group's transfer pricing strategy, including the upkeep of transfer pricing documentation, overseeing implementation, and providing guidance on the implications of business changes on existing policies.
- Offering strategic advice to the business regarding tax consequences and necessary corporate structures for international growth and partnerships.
- Assisting the Head of Tax with mergers and acquisitions.
- Overseeing the tax integration process for newly acquired and newly established entities worldwide.
- Providing insights and driving enhancements in systems, tools, and processes to streamline compliance efforts while ensuring financial accuracy and control.
- Leading the development and execution of Pillar II reporting for the organization.
- Reviewing biannual and annual tax provisions and statutory account disclosures, along with group Effective Tax Rate calculations and forecasts.
- Keeping abreast of global tax changes in relevant jurisdictions and managing the communication of these changes while evaluating their impact on the organization.
- Supporting the Head of Tax in managing corporate tax risks and governance frameworks, including tax policy and other country-specific initiatives globally.
- Engaging with tax authorities regarding audits.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualified CTA or equivalent (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
- Proficient tax accounting capabilities.
- Strong technical skills to analyze new legislation and assess its potential impact on the organization.
- Familiarity with retail tax matters is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Good working knowledge of Alphatax.
- Ability to meet deadlines and resolve issues with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable interacting with personnel at all levels, including senior management.
- Knowledge of additional tax areas is a plus.
- Proactive, driven, and possessing excellent business collaboration skills.
- Capability to explain complex legislation to a non-tax audience.
