About The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Operations Manager to join our team at The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our fine dining restaurant, maintaining high standards of service and cuisine, and leading a dedicated team to achieve exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Food and Beverage Service Manager, you will be responsible for running shifts in our fine dining restaurant, ensuring that all aspects of service and operations are executed to the highest standard.
  • You will motivate and lead a dedicated team to ensure that high standards are consistently maintained, procedures are followed, and sales targets are achieved within the restaurant.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, and adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention, working closely with the marketing team to promote the restaurant's offerings.
  • Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Conduct regular staff training and development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data, identifying trends and opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Work closely with the hotel's management team to align restaurant operations with overall hotel goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Operations Manager or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with colleagues, guests, and external partners in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
