About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrologist Associate to join our Sustainable Water Management Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering our national programme of work, focusing on flood risk management projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement flood hydrology study approaches
  • Conduct Quality Assurance and independent technical reviews of hydrology assessments
  • Prepare project and technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders
  • Coordinate and manage flood hydrology studies within our teams
  • Mentor and develop the skills of junior hydrologists
  • Support business development through identifying prospective opportunities and leading on proposal preparation
  • Provide project, commercial, and financial management for projects
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality results
Requirements
  • Excellent understanding of UK hydrological techniques and the Flood Estimation Handbook
  • Experience of low flow hydrology is advantageous
  • Experience of non-real time (flood mapping) and/or real time (flood forecasting) studies
  • Experience of undertaking hydrology reviews for statutory bodies
  • Commercial experience, including project management and bid preparation
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
  • Relevant experience of delivering infrastructure projects or working with local authority/national government
  • Drive and ability to build client relationships and develop suitable opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Chartership with a relevant professional body (or commitment to work towards within an agreed period)
