Job Overview:

As a Lead Solutions Architect, you will be instrumental in shaping the biometric solutions strategy and vision across various value streams within the HID PACS Business Area.

Your primary focus will be on the architectural design and solutions across diverse teams engaged in developing embedded, desktop, cloud, and mobile applications, emphasizing security and privacy by design.

This position also entails ensuring efficient and rapid continuous integration and deployment among multiple systems that constitute a technology ecosystem.

Collaborating with fellow architects, you will define the systems, products, and architecture that underpin these focus areas.

You will engage with engineering teams, product management teams, and other stakeholders to ensure technical alignment around portfolio-level solutions and contribute to the development of architectural roadmaps.

About HID's Physical Access Control Solutions Department:

The HID PAC's Business Unit is dedicated to expanding our client base while enhancing existing relationships by leveraging cutting-edge card and reader technologies to address our clients' security challenges. Other focal points include authentication, card subsystems, card encoding, biometrics, location services, and all aspects of physical access control infrastructure.

As our Lead Solutions Architect, you will contribute to HID's success by:

  • Collaborating with other architects to ensure that subsystems and components align with the overarching vision and strategy of a cohesive ecosystem of products within the HID PACS portfolio.
  • Participating in planning events, workshops, and system demonstrations.
  • Identifying and mitigating inter-team dependencies through well-considered technology stacks and Application Program Interfaces.
  • Facilitating technical alignment between research and product engineering teams in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Coordinating and supporting technology implementations across teams and products or services.
  • Engaging in design reviews with engineering teams and providing guidance.
  • Promoting continuous improvement and agile practices.
  • Advocating for best engineering practices throughout development lifecycles.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficient in using logic and reasoning to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of end-to-end PACS systems.
  • Strong IT acumen, encompassing hardware, software, and networking knowledge.
  • Capable of tackling complex tasks independently without technical guidance.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, coupled with sound judgment and analytical abilities.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • At least ten years of professional experience supporting product development.
  • Demonstrable software development experience, particularly with large-scale solutions.
  • Proven experience in creating specifications for communications, data persistence layers, service-oriented architectures, and other foundational technology components.
  • Experience in the physical access control sector is advantageous, especially in PIV, FIPS201, and biometric solutions.
