Job Summary:

UK Power Networks is seeking a skilled Substation Inspector to join our team in the London Region. As a Substation Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely completion of Inspection and Maintenance activities up to and including 11kv.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough inspections and non-intrusive diagnostic testing of all plant and apparatus associated with the Primary Distribution network.
• Locate and repair minor plant defects associated with the Distribution network.
• Supervise and ensure that all staff under their responsibility work in accordance with the Distribution System Rules (DSR) and demonstrate a strong safety culture.
• Collect oil samples for diagnostic testing from HV Plant.
• Operate and maintain appropriate IT equipment.
• Provide immediate supervision to Maintenance/Construction staff within their working party.
• Assist other sections as required, utilizing their skills, knowledge, and experience.

Requirements:

• Basic electrical background and knowledge of electrical systems.
• Flexibility and ability to work in a team environment.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Valid clean driving license.
