Location: Caerphilly

Salary: £11.44 per hour

Hours: Full time. Monday - Thursday 8-4:45 and Friday 8-4 it would be a 43 hour working week

At The Recruitment Co, we are currently seeking a dedicated Extruder Operator for a full-time temporary to permanent position.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate machinery according to company protocols and safety regulations to ensure optimal production conditions, resulting in finished products that meet both company and customer specifications.
  • Perform cleaning of machinery and processing equipment efficiently to minimize production downtime.
  • Conduct daily safety and mechanical inspections on tools and machinery, promptly reporting any issues.
  • Notify management of any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Operate a Forklift Truck (F.L.T) safely and responsibly.
  • Accurately complete necessary process documentation, including job cards and process condition sheets.
  • Maintain scales and balances to ensure they are productive and safe, performing calibration as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization within your work area to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (P.P.E) as required in designated areas and processes.
  • Report health and safety concerns and suggest improvements.
  • Be aware of your responsibility for health and safety in the workplace, ensuring your actions do not compromise the safety of others.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to facilitate the smooth movement of materials through the production process.
  • Report quality issues to relevant stakeholders promptly.
  • Collaborate with team members and management to resolve quality concerns effectively.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and machinery isolation procedures.
  • Process supplied mixes efficiently to produce finished goods that meet required specifications.
  • Learn and apply different techniques to address process challenges.
  • Prepare samples for Quality Control testing and ensure timely submission.
  • Inspect the quality of finished products, addressing any discrepancies as necessary.
  • Ensure proper packaging and labeling of finished products, adhering to standard instructions and customer-specific requirements.
  • When necessary, safely palletize and wrap finished products for dispatch.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in extrusion processes.
