FIXED TERM ROLE - 12 MONTHS
Berkshire CAMHS is thrilled to announce an opening for a qualified Clinical Supervisor/CBT Therapist within the established Getting Help Team.
This team is integral to the evolving CAMHS Getting Help services across East Berkshire, collaborating as part of a multi-agency early intervention support network.
The role of the supervising practitioner is pivotal in delivering daily clinical and supervisory guidance to Child Wellbeing Practitioners (CWP) at Band 4/5, including trainees. This position involves working closely with community partners and fostering relationships with local authority Early Help partners, Mental Health Support Team (MHST) colleagues, and educational institutions. Additionally, assessing and delivering Low Intensity CBT to children and young people is a key component of this role.
The successful candidate will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the Getting Help Team's services, adhering to the THRIVE Framework, and providing high-quality, safe, and responsive specialist mental health services to children, young people, parents/carers, and professionals. This will be conducted in alignment with Children and Young People's IAPT principles, in collaboration with service users and partner organizations, as part of a multi-agency system.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate proficiency in applying CYP IAPT principles, evidence-based interventions (such as Low Intensity CBT), and Routine Outcome Measures. Manage and coordinate a defined caseload of children and young people facing emotional health and wellbeing challenges in educational settings. Develop and implement tailored care packages/programs for children and young people, evaluating these initiatives to ensure compliance with national guidelines and trust policies. Provide daily clinical and supervisory support to Child Wellbeing Practitioners (CWP). Offer specialized mental health advice, consultation, and guidance using an outcome-based triage model in collaboration with schools and community partners. Conduct training sessions for school staff, parents, and caregivers in partnership with colleagues. Mentor and train students and less experienced team members. Operate as an autonomous practitioner, recognizing personal limitations and knowing when to seek assistance.About Berkshire Healthcare

Essential Qualifications and Experience
Registration or progress towards registration with a relevant UK governing body (e.g., BABCP/BPS). Qualification in therapeutic approaches for children and families, along with specialized training in skills pertinent to child and adolescent mental health (CYP IAPT). Diploma in CBT/SFP/IPT-A/Parenting and evidence of ongoing professional development as recommended by the relevant professional body. Proven experience in child and youth mental health services. Skills and experience in working with children, young people, and families addressing a range of emotional, mental health, behavioral, and developmental needs. Ability to meet specified service targets and manage competing demands effectively. Experience with routine outcome monitoring and working within a multicultural framework.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Understanding of specialized psychological therapies for clients with mental health challenges. Familiarity with legislation related to the client group and mental health. Strong communication skills to convey complex, sensitive information effectively to clients, families, and professional colleagues. Ability to provide consultation to various professional and non-professional groups. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload effectively. Capability to teach and train others.
