About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Unit team at Katharine House Hospice. As a Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage shifts within the Inpatient Unit, ensuring a safe and effective care environment.
  • Provide leadership, development, and guidance to junior staff, healthcare assistants, and students, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Develop and maintain clinical standards, ensuring that Katharine House Hospice meets local and national standards for providing specialist palliative care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring that patients receive holistic and person-centred care.
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality assurance activities, monitoring standards of care and identifying areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse/RMN on the NMC Register.
  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
  • Post-registration study relevant to Palliative and End of Life Care.
  • Experience in providing palliative or end-of-life care, with evidence of post-registration CPD.
  • Advanced communication skills training and ability to deal with difficult situations.
