Craft Brewer

About the Role:

We are excited to present a unique opportunity for a Craft Brewer to contribute to our innovative brewing operations at Daniel Thwaites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee wort production, managing the entire process from bulk malt handling to fermentation and cask racking.
• Operate and maintain the brewhouse efficiently.
• Manage yeast throughout the brewing process.
• Monitor product quality during fermentation, dry hopping, and fining stages.
• Conduct cleaning in place (CIP) for brewery lines, vessels, and packaging equipment.
• Perform laboratory analyses and maintain accurate data records, ensuring quality assurance and control.
• Manage inventory of raw materials throughout the brewing cycle.
• Ensure consistency and quality by monitoring brewing and processing of batches.
• Adhere to written standard operating procedures (SOPs) while maintaining the highest safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the brewery.
• Exhibit a flexible working attitude to adapt to the dynamic brewing environment.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent time management skills and a keen eye for detail. Previous commercial brewing experience is preferred. A brewing certificate from the Institute of Brewing or a similar organization is advantageous, or a willingness to pursue certification is required.

As a team-oriented individual, you will collaborate closely with fellow brewers, handling raw materials, executing the brewing process, and packaging the final product. This role is physically demanding, requiring repetitive motions and the ability to work in varying temperatures.

A creative mindset with strong numerical skills is essential, as you will be responsible for adjusting and refining recipes as needed.
