Job Title: Audiovisual Skills Coach/Tutor

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Skills Coach to support apprentices through their Level 5 Audiovisual Technician apprenticeships at Blue Lion Training Academy.

The ideal candidate will have AV expertise and a passion for coaching and mentoring apprentices towards successful completion of their programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised coaching and mentoring to apprentices in your area of expertise.
  • Support apprentices in applying theoretical knowledge to their workplace, ensuring they meet learning objectives and progress towards their End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Conduct regular progress reviews with apprentices, providing constructive feedback to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • Use e-portfolio systems such as Bud to track learner progress and ensure timely submission of assignments and documentation.
  • Work closely with employers and other stakeholders to align the apprenticeship experience with industry standards and workplace needs.
  • Ensure compliance with apprenticeship standards and regulatory requirements, providing updates and reports to internal and external stakeholders as required.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Experience as a Skills Coach, Tutor, or Trainer, ideally within the apprenticeship sector, specialising in one of the following areas: Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma), Project Management, Marketing & PR, or Audio Visual & Recording.
  • Strong knowledge of apprenticeship standards and End Point Assessment (EPA) requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with apprentices and motivate them towards successful completion of their qualification.
  • Experience with e-portfolio systems (such as Bud) and using digital tools to track learner progress.
  • Relevant teaching or coaching qualifications (PTTLS, A1 Assessor, etc.) are desirable.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with industry trends in your area of expertise.
