We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Specialty Doctor to join our dedicated medical team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with Specialist Mental Health in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, providing medical input to patients referred by primary care mental health nurses, inpatients, community mental health teams, and patients with severe mental illness under West central PCN for diagnosis and management advice.
Main Responsibilities- Assess new patients for specialist mental health diagnosis when indicated.
- Work closely with primary care, GPs, voluntary sector, and social prescribers.
- Regular liaison with the SMHT Area consultant for patients requiring ongoing care coordination or secondary care treatment for severe mental health conditions.
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and Section approval under the Mental Health Act 1983.
