About the Role
We are seeking a Health Care Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team at NHS Lanarkshire. As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our registered nurses and clinicians in their daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine personal care and examination duties for patients, ensuring a person-centered approach to care delivery.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and effective environment within the ward or department, adhering to quality standards and protocols.
- Carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order, and safety, working collaboratively with the team to achieve these goals.
- Participate in on-the-job training and induction programs to develop your skills and knowledge.
- Undertake mandatory HCSW standards and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Knowledge of personal care and related procedures or previous experience in a health, education, or social environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and patients.
- Basic knowledge of information technology and ability to learn new systems and software.
Desirable Qualifications
- SVQ11 in Health Care or equivalent experience working within a care environment or role.
Contract Details
This is a part-time position, with two posts available. The working pattern will be rotational, and the salary will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Environment
This role will be based in the Medical Admissions Unit and Frailty unit within University Hospital Hairmyres.
