About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with teachers to inspire, guide, and nurture students, helping them achieve their best.

Avanti Meadows is a brand-new primary school in Bishop's Stortford, surrounded by fields and new housing estates. The school is a centre for the new community developing in the north of Bishop's Stortford. We are committed to providing a vibrant and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students, supporting their learning and development in a collaborative and supportive team environment. You will be responsible for delivering learning programmes, encouraging interaction in activities led by the teacher, and providing general pastoral care.

Responsibilities
  • Work with individuals and groups of children to deliver learning programmes and encourage interaction in activities led by the teacher.
  • Assist with general pastoral care and attend to personal needs as appropriate.
  • Supervise children during non-lesson times, accompany on trips, participate in meetings and training
  • Feedback on child progress in meeting Individual Education Plan targets
Requirements
  • Experience of working with relevant age group within a learning environment
  • A good understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate well, with adults and children across the Trust
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people
