Position Overview

Continuous At Sea Deterrence is a vital output of the Royal Navy, and 43 Commando Fleet Protection Group plays a crucial role in safeguarding this capability while supporting Commando Force operations. The Logistics Department is essential in providing comprehensive logistical support, enabling the unit to fulfill its operational commitments.

This role is structured for 37 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will serve as the primary contact for the 43 Commando Fleet Group Royal Marines Motor Transport, Training, and Vehicle Database Administration. Responsibilities will include:

  • Effectively managing all transport requests in line with policy and local procedures.
  • Authorizing transport requests for Continuous Use, Hire, or Private Vehicle use as needed, including issuing necessary documentation.
  • Ensuring the return of vehicles and fuel cards, and reporting any damages.

Candidate Profile

The Motor Transport Administration Officer is a pivotal role within the Logistics Department, providing essential support that underpins the outputs of 43 Commando Fleet Protection Group Royal Marines. Your enthusiasm and professionalism are crucial for maintaining accurate records of White Fleet Vehicles and ensuring all driver training and records are up to date in the MOD databases, with guidance from the team. Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor are vital for effective collaboration with colleagues across various departments.

Compensation and Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary of £24,985, the Ministry of Defence contributes £6,745 towards your membership in the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. This position does not offer relocation expenses.

New recruits to the MOD will undergo a six-month probation period.
