Design Engineer / Lutterworth / Hybrid

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Insight Select, a global organization specializing in the design and manufacture of retail fixtures and fittings. As a Design Engineer, you will work closely with clients to design store fit outs, utilizing your expertise in product design and engineering to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Create and maintain engineering drawings and specifications to meet customer needs
  2. Utilize Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to complete drawings and specifications
  3. Attend client meetings to discuss project requirements and progress
  4. Liaise with project managers and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product prototype development
  5. Produce detailed reports from meetings, highlighting key points and action items
  6. Specify the best materials for each project, considering factors such as cost, durability, and aesthetics
  7. Liaise with clients to understand their specific requirements and preferences
  8. Create installation manuals to ensure seamless product deployment
  9. Update project planning schedules to reflect changes and progress
Essential Skills and Experience:
  1. 2+ years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in product design and engineering
  2. Experience in designing products, with a focus on innovation and creativity
  3. Valid driving license, with the ability to travel to client sites as needed
  4. Confidence in communicating with clients, with excellent verbal and written skills
  5. Degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, design, or a related discipline
  6. Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, Adobe Suite, and SketchUp
  7. Experience with PLM systems, with a strong understanding of product development processes
  8. Strong team player, with excellent collaboration and communication skills
