About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our team as an Activity Coordinator at Priory Hospital Cardiff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and providing a range of therapeutic, wellbeing, and social activities for patients across the site.

As an Activity Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with the occupational therapy team and ward staff to create, plan, and organize an interesting and varied program of daily activities, entertainment, and events to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a programme of activities to complement the therapy provision, including entertainment and events
  • Create calendars that support individuals to fill their time meaningfully
  • Listen to patients through conversation and questionnaires to support the production of programme of events/activities/entertainment
  • Develop and maintain links with local community churches, schools, gyms, community centres, etc.
  • Pre-plan and risk assess activities before they take place

This is a 37.5 hour per week (full time) role, including working weekends.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and creative individual with good communication skills and a desire to make a difference to the lives of the people we care for.

The ideal candidate will be organized and have some experience working within the care sector, therefore being able to understand the needs of patients and aid and facilitate activity choices.

No experience as an Activity Coordinator is required, but a positive, enthusiastic attitude is a must.
