As we embark on the next chapter of our journey, we are seeking a dedicated and innovative Environmental Health and Safety Director to enhance our operations at our Forest Gate facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring the health and safety of our workforce while fostering a culture of safety and compliance.

Role Overview

In this role, you will be instrumental in guiding our manufacturing and logistics teams, providing expert advice and support to promote a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities

As the Environmental Health and Safety Director, you will be committed to the well-being of our employees and adept at cultivating strong relationships across all levels of the organization. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with Hovis Ltd and relevant legislative health and safety standards.
  • Overseeing risk assessments and maintaining high-quality safety outputs.
  • Coordinating health, safety, and environmental initiatives at the Forest Gate site, ensuring all objectives are met.
  • Providing an impartial and transparent auditing function for the organization.
  • Leading the development and implementation of sustainable health, safety, and environmental management programs.
  • Managing the SHE Advisor to enhance safety practices across the site.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • IOSH and/or NEBOSH certifications.
  • Experience in implementing accident prevention programs.
  • Proficiency in designing and delivering effective health and safety training aligned with company strategies.
  • Expertise in health and safety change management.
  • Familiarity with Duty Holder Register, specifically DSEAR/PUWER.
  • Knowledge of ISO14001 or ISO18001 standards.
  • Experience in a unionized environment (preferred).
  • IEMA certification (preferred).
